Cleaning and Hints
7. After baking is finished, disconnect the plug from the power
supply and open the waffle maker, allowing it to cool before
storing.
Smoke observed for a short time during the first heating procedure.
Do not eat the first waffle but dispose of.
Cleaning
1. Disconnect the plug from the power source and allow the unit to
cool completely before cleaning it! Do not immerse the waffle
maker in water or any other liquid!
2. Wipe the housing with a slightly moistened cloth. Do not clean
the unit with aggressive chemicals or abrasives in order not to
damage the surface.
3. After the waffle-grids have cooled, remove crumbs and other
particles from the grids with a brush and wipe with a kitchen
towel to remove excess oil.
4. To avoid contamination and burning due to left-over particles or
oil, clean the waffle maker after each use.
Hints
Do not stir the waffle mixture too vigorously. To bake light and
crispy waffles, beat the egg whites separately and fold it carefully
under the dough.
The amount of fat recommended in the waffle recipes may be
slightly reduced for the non-stick waffle maker. Note however,
that a very low fat mixture may result in the waffles sticking to the
grid. If this occurs, oil the grids slightly.
More crispy waffles can be achieved by leaving the waffles
inside the opened waffle maker for a few seconds, after the
baking process is complete.
For very crispy waffles, use lukewarm water instead of milk. Milk
makes the waffles softer and darker.
