Operating
If you want to test a coin, hold the coin plan and
move it above the coil. Do not hold it upright.
If the detector has detected the object, the resp.
LED lights up (ferrous/non-ferrous), you will see the
pointer moving and you will hear the indicator tone,
depending on the distance and the character of the
object.
If the device cannot detect the object, check the
battery status and the cable connection between coil
and indicator.
Test the device outdoors
Search an area outdoors where you are sure that no larger metal objects are in
the ground.
Put an example for the metal you want to
search (e. g. jewellery, metal piece,
copper, aluminium or similar) on the
ground. Mark the location in order to be
able to find it later, e.g. in grass.
Turn the knob
MODE
to
TR1
. Move the
searching coil as shown in the drawing at
a height of 1 – 5 cm slowly and evenly
above the ground. Do not make oscillating
movements. The coil has to be always
parallel to the ground.
If the searched object is detected, one of
the LED lights up, the pointer moves and
the indicator tone can be heard.
If the location is detected, turn the knob to
TR2
, for differentiating the character of the
metal (see Metal Discrimination).
If the detector cannot find the object
although the object is close to the coil,
check the batteries and the cable and
repeat the searching exactly in a distance
of 1 – 5 cm to the ground.
