EDD Installation Check
The EDD files of the ICoT FF have been developed to meet the latest FF libraries and to keep
interoperable with the most important FF host system in the market.
The
FF Standard Dictionary revision 3.81
was used to build the current EDD files (EDD revision 01) of the
ICoT FF. whenever a FF host system is not using the latest revision of the FF standard dictionary, the host
system user may not find the correct description, if any, of the parameters, functions and methods used
in the ICoT FF. See Section 9.2.3.9 (Some parameters are showing “Error: Dictionary String Not Found”).
The EDD files of the ICoT FF provides a method to check if the FF standard dictionary revision installed in
the FF host system is older than the one used to build the EDD files of the ICoT FF
The “EDD Installation Check” method is available in the menu “3-1 Transducer Calibration”.
After pressing the “ok” button, in case the standard dictionary revision of the host system is
equal or
newer
than the one used by the ICoT FF, the message in next figure should be displayed by the host
system:

than the one used by the ICoT FF, after
pressing twice the “ok” button, the message below should be displayed by the host system.

If the user host system supports methods execution, it is recommended to run the “EDD Installation Check”
method before starting to integrate the ICoT FF in the control system. Obviously, it is not necessary to repeat this
process in each ICoT using the same EDD revision in a host system.
