Some parameters are showing “Error: Dictionary String Not Found”
•
The EDD files of the ICoT FF have been developed to meet the latest FF specifications. If some
parameters or enumerations are showing a message like “Error: Dictionary String Not Found”, most
probably the FF standard dictionary installed in the FF Host is outdated. ICoT FF revision 4.1 was
developed and tested using the FF
Standard Dictionary revision 3.81
. The EDD files of the ICoT FF
provides a method to check if the FF standard dictionary revision installed in the FF host system is
compatible with the one used in the EDD files of the ICoT FF.
See Section 11.5.4 (EDD Installation Check) to know how to run this method and check the
revisions.
•
If there is an incompatibility of the FF standard dictionary revisions, contact the FF Host vendor to
ask for more information on how to update the FF standard dictionary.
Transducer MODE_BLK does not go to AUTO
Check that parameter VALVE_TYPE is properly configured.
Transducer block MODE_BLK = AUTO but BLOCK_ERR keeps showing BlockConfiguration error
•
If the Transducer block is configured to control the valve it is required to have an AO block feeding
this Transducer block. Configure the AO block with a channel that belongs to this Transducer block
and make sure AO mode is CAS or AUTO.
•
After reconfiguring the AO channel the block error persists, power cycle the device.
The valve does not go to FAIL position when ICoT is powered off
•
When the device is not powered, pneumatics and actuator assembly are responsible for moving the
valve to the fail position. Check the air supply, pneumatics assembly, valve and actuator.
•
There are applications where the valve fail safe position is controlled by another control element
such as a solenoid valve and not by the ICoT.
The valve does not go to FAIL position when communication is lost
•
Different from 4-20mA, “communication” and “signal” here stands for the digital communication
established between the elements (i.e. a field device or a host system) in the FF network. Thus it is
possible to loose communication or signal without losing power in the segment.
•
In case the ICoT is controlling the valve, it is responsible to command the solenoid in a way that the
pneumatic assembly moves the valve to the fail position when communication is lost.
Check Transducer block configuration, in special the following parameters:
o
PSNR_FSTATE_OPT
: whenever the Transducer block enters into fault state (commanded by
an AO block) the device will control the valve according to what is defined in this parameter.
o
PSNR_OOS_OPT
: whenever the Transducer block enters into Out of Service (OOS) mode the
device will control the valve according to what is defined in this parameter.
o
PSNR_FSTATE_VAL
: if this parameter was chosen in any of the two previous parameters the
state assumed by any of the physical outputs will match the value configured in this
parameter.
