4. Taking Measurements
Please note!
Die max. voltage to be tested is 600 V AC/DC. If the voltage exceeds
600 V, the unit will show the value but the meter can be damaged.
Immediately disconnect the meter form the measuring subject.
4.2 Resistance Measurement
Ω
Please note!
If you conduct resistance measurement, never connect the probes
to a power source. This may destroy the unit.
Make sure the capacitors are discharged before measuring in order
to avoid incorrect results. This is because resistance measure-
ments are based on a comparison between a reference voltage and
a known reference resistance value.
Measuring Steps:
1. First turn the measuring tip (1) out of the unit by turning the moving
spindle (2) counter clockwise.
2. Connect the black measuring probe with measuring tip or the
crocodile clip to the COM-Input (13).
3. Turn the rotary function switch (5) to the resistance measuring
mode “
Ω
; ;
“. In the display (12) “O.L“ and the scale “M
Ω
“ ap-
pear.
4. Connect the measuring tip with the circuitry respectively with the
measuring component.
5. See the result in the LC-display (12).
6. To change the measuring range, press the button “R-Range” (8).
The scale “AUTO“ disappears and the measuring range can be set
manually. Press several times to change the measuring mode and
the scale units “
Ω
“, “k
Ω
“ or “M
Ω
“ appear. If you want to go back to
auto range, press and hold the button “R-Range“ for approx. 2 sec-
onds. The display shows the symbol ”Auto“ for auto range mode.
Hints:
If you measure a resistor from about 1 M
Ω
, it may take a few
seconds until a stable measurement value is displayed.
