7. Getting started and product maintenance
Before each use, make sure that every component is installed, functions
properly, that the battery is charged and, if necessary, that the tyres are
inflated to the appropriate pressure.
Do not open the housing under any circumstance. The user may not
service internal parts or components.
7.1. Switching on
•
To switch on, briefly actuate the on/off switch once or twice (see point
6.3). Both lights will light up briefly and the battery indicator will
display the charge level. The device will adjust to the neutral position.
The blue LED indicates the device is ready for use.
7.2. Switching off
•
Dismount from the device. Then turn it off by briefly pressing the on/off
switch (button 5).
•
If you do not move your Cruiser for a long period of time, it will switch
off automatically to save energy.
7.3. Lifting the product
•
Always use appropriate lifting and charging technology.
•
Choose sturdy, stationary lifting points, for example, in the middle of
the lower section.
•
Always lift from a squatting position and not from the back.
Warning
•
Pay attention to your fingers. Do not lift the product onto tyres,
protective plates or wheels.
•
You could catch your hands or fingers between the tyres and the
protective plate, resulting in injury.
8. Battery
Note
The battery should last around 1500 charging cycles from normal use
and appropriate maintenance. You will know that the battery is dead
when it needs to be charged more frequently and the range decreases.
8.1. Safety when handling the battery
Warning
To ensure safety and to maximise the life and performance of the
battery, you must strictly follow the instructions in this manual.
•
You may not use the battery under the following conditions:
- when the housing is damaged
- If the battery emits an unusual odor or is excessively hot
- when substances are leaking
•
Avoid contact with leaking substances.
•
Contact with the battery voltage may cause death or serious injury.
•
Working on the product while the power cable is connected is
dangerous. Electric shocks may cause severe personal injury or
damage to property.
•
Never remove the battery from the device or open the battery.
Opening the battery damages the housing and may release
poisonous substances.
•
Never insert objects into the battery or try to break the battery
housing open. By inserting something into one of the connections or
openings, you may suffer an electric shock, injuries or burns, or you
may cause a fire.
•
Only charge the battery with chargers permitted by the
manufacturer.
•
Do not expose the scooter or the charger to high temperatures
or moisture under any circumstances, and never use a damaged
charger.
•
To avoid damage, you should check the charger regularly,
particularly cables and plugs. A damaged charger may no longer be
used. Please contact Hama Support if this is the case
•
You must comply with all applicable laws and regulations when
disposing of and transporting the scooter.
