Follow these basic safety precautions in order to reduce the risk of fire, electrical shock or injury to
persons or property:

Operate the product from a power source of the same voltage, frequency and rating as
indicated on the Product Identification Plate.
•
Switch off and unplug the appliance from the outlet before filling, emptying, cleaning, when
not in use, before assembling or disassembling parts.
•
Use with a residual current device (safety switch) to reduce the risk of scalding or other
injury.
•
Avoid touching hot surfaces, handles and knobs.
•
Regularly check the power cord for damage.
•
Always remove the plug from the wall socket by pulling on the plug, not the power cord.
•
If an extension lead is required, use a 10amp power cord. Power cords with a lower amp
rating may burn out. When positioning the power cord, make sure that it cannot be pulled
on or tripped over.
•
Avoid overload by not connecting too many appliances to a group.
•
Only use this appliance indoors, in dry areas away from water.
•
Always place the appliance on a stable, level surface.
•
Only pick up the appliance by its handle, as certain parts of the appliance become hot during
use.
•
Ensure that the iron’s soleplate does not become damaged by rough surfaces or sharp
objects, e.g. zips.
•
Place the appliance on a heat-resistant surface and not, for example, on varnished furniture.
•
Place the appliance at a safe distance from the wall or flammable materials, e.g. curtains or
candles.
•
Remove the plug from its socket when the appliance is not in use and when cleaning.
•
Turn the temperature control dial to [0] before removing the plug from the plug socket.
•
Close supervision is required when the product is used by or near children and invalids.
