HOW TO USE YOUR AUTOMATIC KETTLE
•
Before first use, remove all packaging materials from the kettle and power base.
•
Put the power switch in the {OFF} position and remove the power cord from the kettle.
•
Fill the kettle to the desired level. Do not fill above the {MAX} mark.
•
Ensure that the kettle is in the {OFF} position (switch up) and connect the power supply cord
to a power outlet of the same voltage and frequency as detailed on the Product
Identification Plate.
•
Flip the switch into the {ON} position (switch down). The power indicator light will turn on.
•
When the water has boiled, the kettle will automatically switch off. If required, the water
may be brought back to the boil by flipping the switch to {ON}.
•
The kettle may be switched off at any time by pressing the switch on the handle to the {OFF}
position (switch up).
•
Switch the power off at the power outlet before disconnecting the power cord from the
kettle.
•
Do not use hot water to fill the kettle. Use only cold water. Allow the cold water tap to run
for three to four seconds before filling the kettle.
•
If any plastic taste from the kettle is experienced, fill the kettle to {MAX} and add a teaspoon
of bicarbonate of soda to the water. Boil and discard the water, then rinse with cold water.
Note:
When using the kettle for the first time or after a long period of disuse, rinse the kettle; fill
it to {MAX} and boil. The water should then be discarded, the kettle rinsed and refilled with cold
water.
