Features and General requirements

Scope of project
The scope of the project is to outsource the RC DEX production to China while maintaining the original functions and
while implementing the following updates:
Reduction of click sound (audible feedback) of the buttons. (market feedback)
Implementation of a “key-lock” slide switch on the side of the product. (market feedback)
Update the product to use the Coyote wLink IC
Update the coating to be more durable. (market feedback)
Add a “blind dot” to volume “+” key
Feasibility study to evaluate if adding rubber coating to program button makes it more distinct from the other keys.
Evaluate the option to implement wire bonding of the wLink IC (Coyote) and if feasible do the implementation. (cost
reduction)

Remote control for hearing aids.

Wear the RC DEX in the hand or pocket. The RC DEX transmits to both hearing aids.
The figure above shows part of RC-DEX VQD. A key-lock slider is added on the side.
1.3
Hearing aid compatibility
The device must be compatible with CLEAR and DREAM hearing aids and other wLink compatible Widex
hearing aids.

Functional Buttons

Program button: The device has a button which can change the hearing aid program remotely.
Volume up button: The device has a button which can change the hearing aid volume up.
Volume down button: The device has a button which can change the hearing aid volume down.
