WIKA operating instructions models TR10-W, TC10-W

7.1.2 Use at the partition to zone 0, certification II 1/2G Ex d IIC T1-T6 Ga/Gb
The flameproof housing or connection head is located in zone 1 (or zone 2). The
sensor is inside a thermowell (made of corrosion-resistant steel, wall thickness at
least 1 mm) which extends into zone 0 via a process connection.
Therefore, power limitation circuit must be used for the thermometer.

A supply provided by an Ex-ia electrical circuit fulfils this requirement, but is not
necessary if the limitation can be reached through other measures. The user is
responsible for this.
7.1.3 Temperature classes, ambient temperatures
For all WIKA connection heads, the following ambient temperature range is
applicable: -40 … +85 °C.
For the permissible ambient temperatures for products from other manufacturers,
please refer to the respective approvals or data sheets.
Self-heating of the connection head in Version 1 does not occur. However,
an inadmissible heat return from the process, which may exceed the housing
operating temperature or the temperature class, must be prevented by
appropriate thermal insulation or by using a longer neck tube.
7.2 Version 2:
ATEX/IECEx Ex-d housing or connection head with integral head-mounted
transmitter. The signal processing is made via a current (4 ... 20 mA), voltage
(2 ... 10 V) or fieldbus signal generated by a head-mounted transmitter.
7.2.1 Use in zone 1, certification II 2G Ex d IIC T1-T6 Gb
The flameproof housing or connection head are located in zone 1 (or zone 2).
The sensor is inside a thermowell (made of corrosion-resistant steel, wall thick-
ness at least 1 mm) which extends into zone 1 via a process connection.
In this case, no power limitation is required since no possible source of error is
applied for the evaluation electronics.
7.2.2 Use at the transition to zone 0, certification II 1/2G Ex d IIC T1-T6 Ga/Gb
The flameproof housing or connection head is located in zone 1 (or zone 2). The
sensor is inside a thermowell (made of corrosion-resistant steel, wall thickness at
least 1 mm) which extends into zone 0 via a process connection.
Therefore, a power limitation circuit must be used for the thermometer.
