WIKA operating instructions models TR10-W, TC10-W

The following relationship exists between all WIKA connection heads and
the installed WIKA temperature transmitters:
The temperature rise on the surface of the connection head or the housing is
lower than 25 K if the following requirements are fulfilled: Operating voltage U
B
maximum DC 30 V when the transmitter is operated in the current limiting range
of 22.5 mA.
Therefore, the following temperature classes are defined:
Temperature class
Ambient temperature
T6
-40 … +55 °C
T5
-40 … +75 °C
T4, T3, T2, T1
-40 … +85 °C
For the permissible ambient temperatures for products from other manufactu-
rers, please refer to the respective approvals or data sheets. An inadmissible
heat return from the process which may exceed the operating temperature of the
transmitter or the housing, must be prevented by appropriate thermal insulation
or by using a longer neck tube.
7.3 Version 3:
Temperature transmitter approved according to ATEX/IECEx Ex-d.
The signal processing is made via a current (4 ... 20 mA), voltage (2 ... 10 V) or
fieldbus signal which is generated by a temperature transmitter certified to ATEX/
IECEx Ex-d.
7.3.1 Use in zone 1, marking II 2G Ex d IIC Gb
The Ex-d field transmitter is located in zone 1 (or zone 2). The sensor is
inside a thermowell (made of corrosion-resistant steel, wall thickness at least
1 mm) which extends into zone 1 via a process connection. In this case, no
power limitation is required since no possible source of error is applied for the
evaluation electronics.
The respective Ex certification can be found on the certfied Ex-d field transmitter.
The TR10-W and TC10-W cevices are marked with a foil label on the neck tube.
If it is to be inserted in a thermowell and mounted to a transition to zone 0, the
certifications and the requirements of the respective Ex-d field transmitter must
be observed.
7.3.2 Temperature classes, ambient temperatures
The following ambient temperature range is applicable for the measuring insert
with neck tube: -40 ... +85 °C.
For the permissible ambient temperatures of the approved Ex-de field trans-
mitters, please refer to the respective operating instructions or data sheets.
Different temperature ranges may result in restrictions.
