Connection options
The CPU is designed so that expansions are possible at any time, as
desired.
Connecting a hard disk
Up to two hard disks can be connected to the CPU. These are used to
store the operating system and POS-specific software. They can also
be used for the long-term storage of the electronic journal. 3.5" hard
disks can be used for this purpose. These disks have a 16-bit IDE
(integrated drive electronics) AT-bus system interface and an
integrated controller. For the default settings and technical data for the
hard disks, see the configuration label.
Free AT slots
The system is fitted with two AT-compatible slots. The BEETLE /L with
a Pentium class CPU offers at the top space for a PCI- or AT-expansion
card and at the bottom place for a full lenght AT-card.
Additional slot on the CPU
The CPU is equipped with an additional slot which can be used to
connect one of the available controllers (VGA, LAN, VGA/LAN,
ASYNC), if required.
