If this mode is active, the indication of actual engine speed and phase angle are continuously
update, but the engine phase angles are not controlled.
The operation mode “Off” will automatically activate, when the “Estimate only” is deactivated.

Operation mode “Control On”
The operator must check the below preconditions and select the operation mode “Control on” (001,
see
) on the LDU.
•
The two engines operate ahead and within the minimum and maximum synchro-phasing
speed. The maximum permitted difference between both engines speed set point is
configure to ±0.5 rpm.
•
“Heavy sea mode” is not active on any engine.
•
No major failure of synchro-phasing system is shown.
•
No machinery protection action is active on any engine. For e.g. slowdown.
•
The two engines have same speed setpoint (from RCS or from local control) and at there
speed setpoint.
The operation mode “Control on” will automatically deactivate and the phase control system will
reset to initial values if there is change in any of the engine speed setpoint, e.g. slowdown, torque
limiter or maximum engine speed reached.
The LED for “Set Point Reached” (002, see
) will glow green, when the synchro-phasing
control error is below ±10 degree CA.
