GAS/ELECTRIC WATER HEATER
(with Motor Aid water heating system)
The gas/electric water heater has a dual
power feature. It can operate from LP gas or
110-volt house current; or it can use both at the
same time for quicker recovery at times when
you are using a lot of hot water.
Read the Gas Water Heater Operation Man-
ual for complete Safety Warnings, Operating
Instructions and Maintenance Information
before operating the water heater.
Be sure the water heater is filled with
water before starting either electric or LP
operation.
To fill the water heater, turn the
Water Pump switch on and open a hot water fau-
cet anywhere in the coach. When water begins to
flow steadily from the faucet, the water heater is
full.
For Electric Operation:
Turn on the
Water Heater electric element switch. The shore-
line must be connected or the generator running
for electric operation.
For LP Gas Operation:
Press the Water
Heater switch on the Monitor Panel. The “Pilot
Out” light will glow for about 10-15 seconds,
then it will go out. The “Heater On” indicator
will remain lit. If the “Pilot Out” light comes on
during LP operation, it means that the burner has
gone into “lockout” mode and must be restarted.
If this happens, turn the Water Heater switch off
for about 5 minutes, then turn it back on. See the
water heater user’s guide in your Owner Info-
Case for further information.
For Quick Recovery Operation
(Dual):
Turn on both Water Heater switches;
the gas one on the monitor panel and the electric
one. This will help reheat the water heater tank
more quickly than a single source would alone.
Use this mode when you are using a larger than
normal volume of hot water.
