PRESS SPEED
(RUN – PRESS SPEED)
This item enables you to adjust speed limits that have been programmed for a selected tool
running on a variable speed press. Speed limits apply to all Run operating modes–
Continuous, Single-stroke, and Inch. Adjustments are made on the Press Speed Parameters
screen, which is shown in Figure 6-22.
When the speed of the press exceeds the maximum speed limit, SmartPAC 2 stops the press
and displays the fault message “Maximum press speed exceeded.” When press speed drops
below the minimum speed limit, SmartPAC 2 stops the press and displays the fault message
“Minimum press speed exceeded.” These fault message are documented in Chapter 7 (see
page 7-10).
To adjust maximum and minimum press speed limits, do the following:

Select PRESS SPEED on the Main Run Menu. The Press Speed Parameters screen
displays.
For help with the Press Speed Parameters screen, press the HELP key when the screen is
displayed.

ARE YOU LOCKED OUT?
Access to items on this screen may be limited to Program mode or may require a
password. The security access settings in Initialization mode determine when changes
can be made. See Table 4-5, page 4-25.
