Checks and servicing tasks
The gas mixer is largely maintenance-free.
For safety reasons and to ensure malfunction-free operation, the following checks are to be per-
formed at regular intervals:
Are the gas inlet pressures in the inlet pressure range specified in the technical data when the
unit is in operation? If necessary the gas inlet pressures are to be re-adjusted.
Is the adjustment on the proportional mixing valve correct?
Are the filters in the inlet blocked (see Section 7.4)?
Is the constant pressure like specified in the technical data when the unit is in operation? If
necessary constant pressure has to be re-adjusted.
Clean the gas mixer with a damp cloth. Do not use any solvent or a high-pressure cleaner for
this purpose.
Perform a visual inspection for external damage and damage to cables (nicks, damage to the
insulation).
All piping, tubing, and fittings shall be tested and proved leak tight on a regular schedule with
inert gas (document this check). Only approved test methods shall be used (e. g. use of leak
detection fluid). Never use an open flame for leak detection!
If a leak is detected, the defective item shall be immediately removed from service and no em-
ployee may use it until repairs and tests necessary to render the equipment safe have been
made. All repairs shall only be performed by personnel familiar with proper practices. When
performing repairs on the equipment the applicable national safety and health regulations must
be observed.
If the leak cannot be repaired, please contact our repair department or one of our authorised
service agents.
A simple functional test of the electrical equipment (pressure switch / transmitter, alarm mod-
ule and audible alarm device), on the
PvDu
and
GB
versions, is to be simulated every six
months by means
insufficient pressure (see Section 7.5).
In the case of other malfunctions contact us or an authorised centre to have the unit checked.
The gas mixer may only be placed back in operation after it has been checked and repaired by us
or an authorised centre.
