5.7 SIM
Here are the configuration pages related not only to the SIM card but also to the mobile
module of the equipment. Also, from here you may send or receive SMS messages.
5.7.1. SIM Status
This page shows you the current state of the SIM card and of the GSM/GPRS/UMTS/
HSDPA module of your equipment.
The status of the HSDPA modules is automatically read every five seconds. The
following information items are displayed:
- Security: the normal state is “unlocked” or “OK”. This means the SIM is active and
you may use the equipment. If you see “locked by PIN” it means the SIM card asks for
the correct PIN code to unlock. The PIN code you have entered previously is incorrect.
You must go to the SIM settings and input the correct PIN to unlock the subscriber card.
It may also by locked by PUK if you entered a wrong PIN code three times in a row –
then it needs a PUK code to unlock.
Note: When SIM Status displays “locked by PUK2” or “locked by PIN2” this in not an
error warning, it means it is locked only for special network services (such as roaming)
that HSDPA does not require.
- Modem Version: the version of the firmware, read from the 3G modem module
- IMSI (International Mobile Subscriber Identity), identity of the subscriber (of the SIM
card). This is a unique code number (15 digits) that identifies a mobile subscriber to the
network. If the HSDPA module of detects an active SIM card, it will query
(and display) the IMSI code. Since the IMSI code is related to the SIM, when you
change the SIM card used with you will have another IMSI code.
