27. Cascade operation
Fig: 2 - 4 boilers in the installation room, side by side
For general information on positioning, see also information on installation of individual
system.
Different minimum clearances must be observed when installing the boilers in the
installation room.
Installation instructions
Motor-controlled flue gas damper to DIN 3388 Part 2 and DVGW G 635.
For appliances in cascade systems that produce condensation and have no ignition
flame.
Design:
Sealed, condensate-resistant, for overpressure flue systems, stainless steel casing,
stainless steel shaft, positioning lever for position indication, including actuator for 230 V
AC current with return spring, integral fuse, protection rating to DIN 40050, IP 44, for
flue gas temperatures up to 120 °C.
Mounting the flue gas damper:
- Switch the ON/OFF switch on the gas condensing boiler to OFF.
- The mains terminals are live even when the ON/OFF switch has been switched OFF.
Isolate the system from the power supply, otherwise there is a risk to life from
electrocution.
- Install flue gas damper in the flue outlet of the condensate pan.
(Damper axis must be oriented upwards at an angle of 3 to 5° to the horizontal.)
- Connect the cable from the limit switch to input E1.
- Connect flue gas damper servomotor cable to output A1
(see "Flue gas damper power supply").
- Set control unit to flue gas damper operation (see HG13/14).
- Install condensate trap in female connection of the flue gas damper.
- Installation of siphon, neutralising system, condensate pump: see corresponding
chapter in the information on installing an individual system.
