STEP 9

STEP 12 - SECURING THE ROOF STRUCTURE

STEP 11 - OPENING TO THE SECOND POSITION

NOTE:

EACH SIDE CAN BE LIFTED INDEPENDENTLY BY ONE

PERSON.  THERE IS NO NEED FOR TWO PEOPLE TO LIFT EACH

SIDE SIMULTANEOUSLY.

•

TO OPEN THE ROOF STRUCTURE COMPLETELY, RAISE THE

SIDE ARMS OF THE VERTICAL STRUCTURE BY LIFTING THE

VERTICAL RUNNER ON THE CENTER POLE TO THE STOPPER

POSITIONED AT THE TOP OF THE CENTER POLE.

•

LIFT THE RUNNER USING ONE HAND, AND INSERT THE

SECURING PIN BELOW THE BOTTOM OF THE RUNNER WITH

  THE OTHER HAND.

CLOSING

REFER TO THE OPENING STEPS IN REVERSE ORDER.

BEFORE LOWERING THE VERTICAL RUNNER, REMOVE THE LOCKING

PINS FROM THE WIND STABILIZING RUNNERS.

FIRMLY GRAB HOLD OF THE VERTICAL RUNNER BEFORE REMOVING

THE SECURING PIN.  THE VERTICAL RUNNER MUST THEN BE

LOWERED GENTLY UNTIL IT IS PLACED ON THE STOPPER AT THE

BOTTOM OF THE VERTICAL POLE.  FAILING TO HOLD THE RUNNER

FIRMLY, WILL RESULT IN THE RUNNERS SLAMMMING DOWN ONTO

THE STOPPER AND MAY RESULT IN DAMAGE TO THE STRUCTURE.

REPEAT THE SAME PROCEDURE ON THE OPPOSITE SIDE.

WHEN BOTH SIDES ARE DOWN, PROCEED TO ROLL UP THE ROOF

STRUCTURE BY TURNING THE CRANK HANDLE UNTIL ALL THE

FABRIC IS ACCUMULATED OVERHEAD.

NOTE:  BEFORE CLOSING OR COVERING WITH A PROTECTIVE COVER

BAG THE FABRIC CANOPY SHOULD BE DRY.  IF THE FABRIC CANOPY

IS CLOSED OR PACKED AWAY WHEN WET, IT MAY RESULT IN

PERMANENT STAINING.

MAKE SURE THE SELECTED BASE SYSTEM IS IN THE CORRECT POSITION BEFORE RAISING THE ASSEMBLED

PAPILLON STRUCTURE AND PLACING IT IN THE STAINLESS STEEL TUBES.

•

THE STAINLESS STEEL TUBES MUST BE ALIGNED AND POSITIONED SO THE CENTER TO CENTER

DISTANCE EXACTLY MATCHES THE LENGTH OF THE ROOF STRUCTURE.

•

FOR THE 5m ROOF STRUCTURE THE DISTANCE FOR FROM CENTER TO CENTER OF THE STAINLESS STEEL

TUBES IS EXACTLY FIVE (5) METERS.

•

THE CENTER LINE MUST BE AT LEAST 1.6 M (5’ 3”) AWAY FROM THE NEAREST OBSTRUCTION ON BOTH

SIDES (IN THE DIRECTIONS THE CANOPY OPENS).

•

SEE SEPARATE INSTRUCTIONS FOR BASE SYSTEM ASSEMBLY DETAILS.  INSTRUCTIONS ARE

INCLUDED IN THE BASE SYSTEM BOX.

USE TWO PEOPLE TO LIFT BOTH VERTICAL STRUCTURES INTO POSITION SIMULTANEOUSLY.

LOWER THE TWO VERTICAL STRUCTURES INTO THE STAINLESS STEEL TUBES AT THE SAME

TIME.  ONCE IN POSITION, THE HAND WHEELS ON THE STAINLESS STEEL TUBES CAN BE

TIGHTENED TO SECURE THE POLES IN POSITION.

STEP 10 - OPENING THE PAPILLON - TO FIRST POSITION

INSERT THE CRANK HANDLE INTO THE CRANK HOLDER ON THE GEAR BOX AND TURN THE CRANK HANDLE.

•

THE DIRECTION OF ROTATION TO OPEN OR CLOSE THE ROOF STRUCTURE IS DETERMINED

BY THE ROTATION DIRECTION WHEN IT WAS LAST CLOSED.  THIS MAY VARY EACH TIME

THE PRODUCT IS OPENED AND CLOSED.

•

WHEN OPENING, MAKE SURE THE ROOF STRUCTURE OPENS FREELY.  THE WEIGHT OF THE

SIDE ROLLERS IS WHAT HELPS THE ROOF STRUCTURE TO OPEN FREELY AS THE FABRIC CANOPY

   IS UNWOUND.

•

DO NOT FORCE THE ROOF STRUCTURE OPEN IF IT SEEMS TO BE JAMMING.  THIS MAY RESULT

IN DAMAGE TO THE CRANK HOLDER OR GEAR MECHANISM.

•

IF THERE IS ANY RESISTANCE WHEN OPENING, MAKE SURE THE CENTER AND SIDE

ROLLERS MOVE FREELY.  IF THE ROLLERS DO NOT MOVE FREELY, CHECK

THE NYLOC NUTS.  THESE MUST NOT BE OVER TIGHTENED AND SHOULD ALLOW

ENOUGH SPACE FOR FREE MOVEMENT.  IF THEY ARE TOO TIGHT, LOOSEN THEM.

•

WHEN THE ENTIRE FABRIC CANOPY HAS BEEN UNROLLED, THE ROOF STRUCTURE WILL BE IN THE FIRST

STAGE OF OPENING (SEE ILLUSTRATION).  THE ROOF STRUCTURE CAN BE LEFT IN THIS POSITION IF REQUIRED.

THIS POSITION WILL ALLOW ADDITIONAL SHELTER FROM WET WEATHER AND ALLOWS RAIN RUN-OFF.

IT IS ALSO A CONVENIENT POSITION IF THE SUN IS AT LOW ANGLES.

FIRST STAGE OF OPENING

SIDE ARM

VERTICAL RUNNER

ONCE IN THE FULLY OPEN POSITION,

SECURE THE WIND STABILIZING SYSTEM BY INSERTING

THE LOCKING PINS THROUGH THE STABILIZER RUNNERS

AND INTO THE SIDE ARMS.  IF THE HOLES ARE NOT

ALIGNED, LIFT OR PULL THE SIDE ARM(S) DOWN TO GET

ALIGNMENT.

NOTE: WHEN COMPLETELY OPEN AND THE SECURING PINS ARE IN POSTION,

THE CANOPY CAN BE LEVELED BY TURNING THE CRANK HANDLE IN THE REQUIRED

DIRECTION UNTIL THE ROOF STRUCTURE IS LEVEL.
