DRESS PROPERLY
Do not wear loose clothing, gloves, necklaces or jewelry (rings, wrist watches). They can be
caught in moving parts. Protective gloves and non-skid footwear are recommended when
working. Wear protective hair covering to contain long hair, preventing it from getting
caught in machinery.
PROTECT YOUR EYES AND FACE
The log splitter may throw foreign objects into the eyes and cause a permanent eye damage.
Always wear eye protection. Everyday eyeglasses have only impact resistant lenses. They are
not safety glasses. Do not put the log splitter on the ground for operations. This is an
awkward operating position and the operator has to bring his face close to the machine, and
thus risks being struck by wood chips or debris.
KEEP BYSTANDERS AND CHILDREN AWAY
The log splitter must always be operated by one person only. Other people must stay at a
safe distance from the working area especially when the motor is running. Never allow other
people to help you with freeing a jammed log.
INSPECT THE LOGS
Make sure there are no nails or foreign objects in logs to be split. The ends of the logs must
be cut square. Branches must be cut of flush with the trunk. Cross-grain splitting is not
allowed. Never try to split two logs simultaneously. Never try to split logs that are not
straight on the work table.
DO NOT OVERREACH
Keep proper footing and balance at all times. Never stand on the machine. Serious injury
could occur if the machine tips or if the cutting tools are unintentionally contacted. Do not
store any objects above or near the machine so that someone might stand on the machine to
reach them.
AVOID INJURY FROM UNEXPECTED ACCIDENT
Always pay full attention to the movement of the log pusher. Do not attempt to load the log
until the log pusher has completely stopped. Keep hands out of the way of all moving parts.
PROTECT YOUR HANDS
Keep your hands away from splits and cracks which open in the log. They may close suddenly
and crush or amputate your hands. Do not attempt to remove a jammed log with your
hands.
DO NOT FORCE THE MACHINE
The log splitter will do a better and safer job at its design rate. Never try to split logs larger
than those indicated in the technical data table. It could be dangerous and may damage the
machine. Do not use the log splitter for a purpose for which it was not intended.
NEVER LEAVE TOOL RUNNING UNATTENDED
Do not leave the machine until it has come to a complete stop.
STOP THE ENGINE PRIOR TO SERVICE AND CLEANING
Stop the engine always when the log splitter is not in use, prior to adjustments, changing
parts, cleaning or working on the log splitter. Consult the manual before servicing.
