j. Do not short-circuit the battery. Keep any batteries that are not being used away
from paper clips, coins, keys, nails, screws or other small metal objects that could
cause a bridging of the contacts. A short-circuit between the battery contacts can
cause burns or fire hazards.
k. Vapours may escape in case of damage and/or improper handling. Air the room and
consult a doctor in case of complaints. The vapours may irritate your respiratory system.
Electrical safety
Always check if the battery voltage corresponds to that indicated on the
type plate. Also check if the mains voltage corresponds to the input coltage
of the battery charging device.
Before placing the device in operation
Please read these instructions at all costs before placing your cordless screwdriver into
operation.
• Use only the supplied charging device to charge the battery pack.
• Only use sharp drillpieces as well as faultless and appropriate screwdriver bits.
• When drilling and screwing into walls and brickwork inspect whether they have any
concealed power and gas supply lines and water pipes.
Operation
Charging the battery
The enclosed battery is delivered in a partially charged state
a. To remove the battery push the unlocking button (9) and pull the battery out of the
machine handle.
b. It is only possible to charge the battery in a temperature range of between 0 °C and 40 °C.
c. The voltage indicated on the type plate must coincide with the mains voltage
present.
d. Charging starts as soon as the contact between the battery-operated device and the
charger is established. The red LED is permanently lit. The charging time is approx.
3 to 5 hours when the battery is flat. The green LED lights up continuously once the
battery is fully charged.
Note
If the charging of the battery is not possible please check
• whether the power supply is connected to the power outlet.
• whether a perfect contact is present at the charging contacts of the charging device.
To guarantee the long service life of the battery ensure timely recharging. Never
completely discharge the battery. This will lead to the battery being defective!
