8. Motor Temperature
Maximum permitted motor casing temperature: 80 °C
9. Safety Equipment
Grinding machines may not be operated without safety equipment. Before
beginning work, tighten down the protective cover (spark guard), workpiece
support and the spark guard plate.
10. Adjust the grinding wheels, spark guard and workpiece support
The workpiece supports and upper adjustable protective covers (spark guards)
should always be adjusted to be as close as possible to the grinding tool. For safe
operation, the following clearances should be maintained:
Clearance
Spark Guard / Grinding Wheel
< 2 mm
Workpiece Supports / Grinding Wheels
< 2 mm
Check the clearances in the course of the grinding work. With the wear of the
grinding wheels, the clearances increase. Then the workpiece supports and spark
guard must be readjusted.
11. Grinding Wheels
Do not use any damaged or deformed grinding wheels.
12. Changing the sanding discs
When changing the sanding discs, the mains plug should always be disconnected.
13. Rim speed of the dry sanding disc
The maximum rim speed of the dry sanding disc is:
Ø 150 = 23.16 m/s
Calculation: Rim speed
m/s = d x 3.14 x n
60 x 1000
d = diameter of the sanding disc in mm
n = motor rotation speed per minute
Example:
m/s = 150 x 3,14 x 2950
60 x 1000
= 23.16 m/
