E. FCC Compliance
This device complies with part 15 of the FCC Rules. Operation is subject to the following two
conditions: (1) This device may not cause harmful interference, and (2) this device must accept
any interference received, including interference that may cause undesired operation.
Part 15.21
Changes or modifications not expressly approved by the party responsible for compliance could
void the user’s authority to operate the equipment.
NOTE: The manufacturer is not responsible for any radio or TV interference caused
by unauthorized modifications to this equipment. Such modifications could void the
user’s authority to operate the equipment.
F. Special Airworthiness for Non-Aviation Transmitters
Caution: Transmitting between 36 - 40 MHz may affect accuracy of other onboard navigation
equipment consistent with FAA SPECIAL AIRWORTHINESS INFORMATION BULLETIN SAIB: SW-
10-43. If the use of the low VHF band FM transmission is required, CAC recommends that the
user not transmit on the low VHF FM band while using sensitive navigational equipment or
operate in low output power mode, not high power, and/or consider using a passive antenna
such as the AT-160 or AT-150 which will have lower operating performance in the low VHF band.
This practice may not be required if proper installation practices have been followed with
excellent antenna bonding and separation between antennas and airframe protrusions have been
followed and is more likely to be necessary on small airframes with limited antenna mounting
space. Contact CAC technical support for assistance. Observed harmonics for a properly
functioning and calibrated radio will be below -53dB IAW the FCC spec.
G. Instructions for Continued Airworthiness
Airworthiness Limitations
The Airworthiness Limitations Section is FAA approved and specifies maintenance required under
14 CFR §§ 43.16 and 91.403 of the Federal Aviation Regulations unless an alternative program
has been FAA approved.
There are no new (or additional) airworthiness limitations associated with this equipment and/or
installation.
Maintenance of the FLEXCOMM II (Non-Digital) Transceiver is ‘on condition’ only. Periodic
maintenance of this product is not required.
