6.8. Internal nozzle pressure
Notice!
At an entrance pressure of more than 29 psi at the air inlet, the internal
nozzle pressure exceeds 10 psi. The maximum inlet pressure permitted for
HVLP use is stamped onto the gun body. For pressure above 2 bars the
HVLP gun is compliant.
(Lombardy, Italy): Inlet pressure with nozzle size 1.7 / 1.9 and 2.1 less 2.9
bar (with 1.4 less 2.5 bar) – air cap pressure less 1.0 bar)
7. Cleaning and Maintenance
a) Flush the material-conveying parts of the gun thoroughly with thinner or
cleaning fluid.
b) Clean the air nozzle with a paint brush or brush. Do not immerse the noz-
zle in thinner or cleaning fluid.
c) Under no circumstances try to clean clogged orifices using an unsuitable
tool, since the slightest amount of damage adversely affects the spray
pattern. Use nozzle cleaning needles.
d) Slightly grease moving parts.
Notice!
Paint spray gun may be cleaned with solvent or cleaning agents manually
or in a conventional gun washing machine.
The procedures mentioned below will damage the paint spray gun/
system and may lead to expiry of the explosion proofness certificate
as well as total loss of any waranty:
•
Immersing the paint spray gun in solvent or cleaning agents, or for a
period longer than required for the cleaning process as such
•
Failure to remove the paint spray gun from the gun washing machine
after finishing the cleaning process
•
Cleaning the paint spray gun by means of ultrasound cleaning sys-
tems
Warning! Attention!
When using solvents and cleaning agents based on halogenated hydrocar-
bons e.g. 1.1.1-trichlorethylene and methylene chloride, chemical reactions
can occur on the aluminium cup, gun and on galvanized components
(small quantities of water added to 1.1.1-trichlorethyelene produce hy-
drochloric acid). This can cause oxidation of the components; in extreme
cases, the reaction can be explosive.
Therefore only use solvents andcleaning agents for your paint gun which
do not contain the substances named above. You must never use acid,
alkaline solutions / Iye or stripping agents for cleaning.
8. Trouble-shooting
Malfunction
Cause
Corrective Action
Paint spray gun leaks
from fluid tip.
Foreign substances
between fluid tip and
needle prevent sealing.
Remove and clean fluid
needle and fluid nozzle
or use new nozzle set.
Paint emerges from
fluid needle - needle
sealing.
Self tensioning needle
sealing damaged or
lost.
Replace needle seal-
ing.
Spray pattern in sickle
shape.
Horn air holes or air
circuit clogged.
Soak in thinner/clean-
ing fluid, afterwards
clean with SATA noz-
zle-cleaning needle.
Drop-like or oval
shaped pattern.
Dirt on fluid pin tip or air
outlet.
Turn air nozzle by 180
degrees. If defective
pattern remains, clean
fluid tip pin and air
circuit.
Paint spray flutters.
Too little material in
cup, fluid nozzle not
tight self-adjusting,
needle sealing dam-
aged, nozzle set dirty
or damaged.
Refill material, tighten
parts, if necessary
clean or replace parts.
Air distribution ring
defect.
Replace air distribution
ring.
Malfunction
Cause
Corrective Action
Material bubbles or
„boils“ in paint cup.
Atomization air flows
through the paint chan-
nel to the cup. The
paint nozzle is not
sufficiently tightened.
Air nozzle is not com-
pletely screwed on, the
air net clogged.
Tighten parts accord-
ingly, clean or replace.
Air distribution ring
defect.
Replace air distribution
ring.

During the period of twelve (12) months from the date of original purchase
Würth will repair or, replace the product without charge for parts or labour
subject to the following conditions.
The warranty covers the value for production parts or defects in material dur-
ing the warranty period. The warranty does not include damages caused by
improper handling, normal wear and tear, mechanical damages, faulty as-
sembly, improper maintenance, unusual spray materials, substitute materials,
chemicals such as alkaline solutions and acids, electro-chemical or electric
influences, as far as this damage is not the result of any error committed by us.
Abrasive spray material such as red lead and liquid grinding mate-
rial etc. reduce the lifetime of valves, packings, guns and nozzles.
Wear and tear damage caused by this are not covered in this warranty.
Units should be inspected upon delivery by the consumer. Obvious damage
must be reported within 14 days of receipt of the unit to the supplier to avoid
