Flat rooF application
Framed and frameless PV - Modules
Diagonal Strap and Anti-Slip Hardware Installation:
Once all module mounting rails
are mounted on the triangles,
the diagonal straps need to be
attached.
See Figure 6.1.
One of these is mounted for
each completed row and at
least one for every 40 ft.
The diagonal straps are
fastened to the rear triangle
struts using T-Bolts.
See Figure 6.2
(Torque: 6 to 8 ft. lbs.)
Installation of diagonal strap is
now complete and modules are
ready to be mounted.
The modules must be equipped
with anti-slip protection before
they are mounted. This is done
by attaching M6 x 20 screws
(with the shank downward) with
M6 nuts in the lower mounting
holes on the bottom of the module frame. When mounting large modules
(e.g. ASE250), M8 x 20 screws are used. (1/4-20 X ¾)
See Figure 7.1
Next, slide the first module onto the module mounting rail until the anti-slip
protection screws hit the lower module mounting rail.
Module Installation:
Now slide the end clamp onto
the module mounting rail and
the module, and adjust it to
the module frame height. Turn
the screws
counterclockwise
to fasten the end clamp.
See
Figure 7.2
(Torque: 6 x 8 ft. lbs.)
Now click the mid clamp onto the module
mounting rails and slide it onto the module. Ensure
that the mid clamp clicks onto both sides of the
mounting rail.
See Figure 8.1
Slide the next module under the clamp ensuring that the modules are
pressed tightly against the module spacer.
See Figure 8.2
Continue this process for all modules. Module end clams will also be
installed in the same manner as described in section 7.2 on the opposite end
of the table.
Modules are now installed and ready to be properly grounded.
