7.1.3
Power supply / battery
A set of alkali batteries usually last for 1,000 operating hours. The batteries operating life depends on the
operating distance between the transmitter and receiver, and can vary from between 250 and 2500 hours.
The hand-held receiver shows when the batteries are low and need to be replaced. This is shown by the red
hand-held transmitter's LED flashing at second intervals, when the transmitter is switched on. This indicates
that there is less than 20% battery remaining.
If the battery power falls below 2.2 volts, the low voltage monitoring system switches off the transmitter. The
batteries must now be replaced.
A reverse voltage protection system prevents transmitter damage if the two 1.5V batteries (LR6/AA) are in-
serted incorrectly.
7.1.4
Use of rechargeable batteries
Since usually a set of alkali batteries is inexpensive, available everywhere, and lasts for far longer than 250
operating hours, the use of rechargeable batteries is not worthwhile.
Rechargeable batteries are prone to self-discharge and have a lower voltage than alkali batteries. Therefore,
we recommend the use of alkali batteries and advise against rechargeable batteries.
7.2 Receiver
7.2.1
Positioning the receiver
It should preferably be mounted on top of the blowing machine, in view of the transmitter.
It should be positioned as far away from the motor as possible, as the collector motor brush sparking
can reduce the radio range.
The range will also be reduced when positioned at ground level.
It should not be placed near other radio systems. If this is difficult, the receiver can be positioned fur-
ther away by using a cable reel.
7.2.2
Connector pin assignment
The connection cable must be connected according to the following configuration:
Colour Function
black
PLUS min. 8VDC / max. 33VDC
white MINUS
brown AIR
yellow MATERIAL
blue
optional switch r
green
Important:
The receiver must not be connected to AC voltage!
