Tightening torque of the collor nut
(1): 70 Nm
SHOCK ABSORBER
Press the rear of the vehicle down to
test the function of the rear damper.
Make sure that no pressure is exerted
on the exhaust in order not to damage
it.
The shock absorber can be adjusted
to suit the weight of the driver and the
load.
WHEEL BEARINGS
The front and rear wheel bearings must
be checked at the intervals specified in
the periodic maintenance and lubrica-
tion chart.
CAUTION
If there is play in the wheel hub or if the
wheel does not turn smoothly, have a
dealer check the wheel bearings.
DRIVE CHAIN
10-20 mm
If the chain tension is too great, parts
within the secondary power trasmission
(chain, chain sprockets transmission
and rear wheel bearings) will be sub-
jected to unnecessary stress resulting
in early wear and even chain breaka-
ge. Too much slack in the chain, on the
other hand, can result chain jumping off
the chain wheels. If this happens the
chain could also block the rear wheel
or damage the engine. In either case
the operator is likely to lose control of
the vehicle.
Tensioning the chain drive
1. Loosen collar nut (1)
2. Loosen counter nut (2)
3. Turn right and left adjusting screws
(3) equally far. The drive chain free
play should be between 10 mm and
20 mm.
4. Tighten counter nut (2) and the collar
nut (1).
