Plug the connector from the feeder into the socket in the
printer (fig. 9.4). Then, replace the connector cover on the
printer.

Latch the two securing locks on each side of the feeder by
reaching under the icons and pushing the lock toward the back
of the printer (fig. 9.1).
9.
Reconnect the power cord and all interface cables.
10.
Slide a filled, 250 sheet paper cassette into the feeder.
11.
Turn on your printer.
If the cassettes are the same size, you may want to chain them so that
when one empties, the printer automatically begins drawing from the
second one. For details, see “Tray Chaining” in chapter 6.
Note:
If you try to chain the two cassettes with different size media
in each, you will get a PAPER OUT message when the first
paper tray is empty.
Optional Cassette Supporter
If you need a higher capacity than the 250 sheets gained with the
paper feeder, you can add a cassette supporter and 500 sheet
letter/A4 tray. This supporter raises the feeder so that a 500 sheet
letter/A4 (only) size cassette will fit into it.
