Configuration 6-25
Positive Film Technology (Density)
Positive Film Technology allows you to control the toner intensity
for positive film output. The amount of toner applied to a positive
image increases as the PAPER:DENSITY configuration menu
settings increase from 0 to 20. The default setting depends on the
selected media. The default for plate is 4; for paper and film it is 7.
This menu is active only if Negative Print is set to False in the Print
dialog box.
Electrophotography (EP1, Toner Control)
The PAPER:EP1 menu helps reduce toning by controlling the level
of toner transferred from the toner drum to the media. Options are 0
up to 15. The default setting depends on the selected media. The
default setting for paper and film is 10; the default setting for plate is
0.
Electrophotography (EP2, Humidity Control)
The PAPER:EP2 menu allows you to make adjustments for changes
in humidity during printing, thereby reducing ghosting. Humidity
can affect toning on plates and the density on negatives.
Options are 0 to 10. The default depends on the selected media; the
defaults are 5 for paper and heavy paper, 4 for plate, and 3 for film
and heavy film.
Note:
This setting will affect the density of your halftones, so you
may need to relinearize if you change the EP2 setting.
Fuser Temperature Control
You can control your printer’s fuser temperature for different media
types.
Set the fuser temperature from the PAPER:FUSER configuration
menu. The default fuser temperature setting is 12 for plates.
Temperature increases as the options increase from 0-none to 15-hot.
Select 0-none or 1 when printing to Myriad film, envelopes, and
paper. Select hotter settings for heavy paper, heavy film, and Myriad
2 plates.
