•
Do not fan plates. This causes static buildup which can cause
jams.
•
Select the proper fusing temperature for the plate. See “Fuser
Temperature Control” in chapter 6 for details.
Preparing the Plate for Press
To reduce toning, you may need to prepare plates for printing using
XANTÉ Myriad 2 plate cleaner. Prepare plates as follows:
1.
Shake plate cleaner well.
2.
Place the plate on a clean, smooth surface.
3.
Spray the cleaning solution directly on the plate, keeping the
spray nozzle approximately 10 to 12 inches from the surface.
4.
Wipe plate with even, moderate pressure to coat completely.
5.
Rinse the plate with water or fountain solution.
To clean a plate on the printing press, use the following steps:
1.
Shake plate cleaner well.
2.
Secure the plate directly to the plate cylinder.
3.
Spray the cleaning solution onto a 4 x 4 inch cotton square.
4.
Wipe plate with even, moderate pressure to coat completely.
5.
Rinse the plate with water or fountain solution.
After the Myriad 2 plate is imaged and cleaned, begin printing
according to the press manufacturer’s instructions. If you experience
problems with Myriad 2 plates, refer to the troubleshooting
information in Chapter 11.
The following chart lists Myriad 2 plate sizes. To order Myriad 2
