VoIP set protocol
7.20.1 Syntax
voip set protocol <sip | mgcp | none>
7.20.2 Description
This command is used to configure the Voice-IAD system
to use either the MGCP or SIP protocol
for VoIP calls. This command will start up the specified
protocol on the Voice-IAD system after the
system has been restarted.
If you are setting up the protocol using this command,
then you must ensure that the other related
protocol settings, such as
eptypename
,
udpPort
etc. have
already been set up.
To see which Voice protocol is running on a Voice-IAD
system use the command,
voip show
.
Setting the protocol to none means that the VoIP software
will not auto-start on boot up, as it
doesn't know which protocol to start. This is useful during
initial configuration and testing as it allows
the VOIP protocol to be started after other
configuration/logging has been set up. You can also use
this command if you wish to swap between SIP and
MGCP; set the protocol to none, restart the
system and then configure the system to use the other
protocol.
