VoIP set rtpdscp
7.22.1 Syntax
voip set rtpdscp <dscp>
7.22.2 Description
This command is used to set QoS characteristics for RTP
data packets. It sets the DSCP
(Differentiated Services Code Point) in the IP header. This
is a 6-bit value that is used to select the
per-hop behavior (PHB) to be applied to an RTP packet
when it is forwarded. To see the current
RTP DSCP value, use the command voip show.
For SIP, both signalling and RTP DSCP is set from the
CLI.
For MGCP, the DSCP for RTP packets may be sent from
the Call agent (the value in
gwprofiles.txt is used by the call agent each time it sends
a "create connection" message). If
a non-zero "RTP DSCP" value is set from the CLI then
this will always override any value which has
been set from the MGCP Call Agent. If the "RTP DSCP"
value has not been set from the CLI or is
set to zero, then any value which has been set in the
MGCP Call agent will be used.
For MGCP (like SIP), the call agent can't specify the
DSCP for signalling packets, and the
"Signalling DSCP" value in the CLI is used for all MGCP
packets. To set the DSCP for signalling
packets use the command voip set sigdscp.
For more information about Configuring QoS support,
refer to
Configuring QoS support
on page 68.
