The ‘Searching for a new device’
message appears and the USB
driver is installed. If the installa-
tion screen may not be displayed.
Open the Device Manager and
check whether the device driver
is properly installed.

When the USB driver is installed,
“USB 2.0 Storage Device USB
Device” will be displayed in the
[Device Manager].
Checking the USB Driver
For Windows 98/ME, check as

Using Folders
This model includes a high capacity
HDD and is a portable high capacity
storage device that can store a large
amount of data. For more information
about using folders, see page 14 “Us-
ing Folders”
It comes with a USB 2.0 interface for
faster data transfer. You can select
and play files without limitation on the
number of total folder and files, and
you may delete, move, and copy files.
You can freely create folders, but if
you want to play files in each mode,
you have to save the files in the cor-
rect folder.
Folder directories
This model has 6 physical folders,
MOVIE, MUSIC, PHOTO,
SECURITY, SYSTEM, and TEXT fold-
ers.
MOVIE folder
: Folder for saving
video-related files, such as *.avi and
*.smi files.
MUSIC folder:
Folder for saving
audio-related files, such as mp3 and
wma files.
PHOTO folder:
Folder for saving
photo-related files, such as jpg files.
SECURITY folder:
You can access
this folder after entering the
password.
Use this folder to save private files to
be kept in secrete.
SYSTEM folder:
This folder contains
fonts and system files, therefore
do not remove this folder.
TEXT folder:
This folder contains
text files.
