PRINTER HARDWARE COMPONENTS
Output subsystem
The output subsystem provides paper stacking, report collating,
optional finishing, and sample print capabilities.
In a standard configuration, the 4890 LPS has two feeder trays
and a dual stacker (two trays). For information on other feeder
and finishing options, refer to the “Hardware options” section in
this chapter.

1. Printer control console
Refer to the “Printer control console” section in this chapter.
2. Sample tray
This output tray is used for sample prints, rejected prints, and
transparencies. The capacity of the sample tray is 100 sheets of
20-pound or 80 gsm paper.
3. Stacker tray
The capacity of tray 1 is 750 sheets of 20-pound or 80 gsm
paper.
4. Stacker tray
The capacity of tray 2 is 750 sheets of 20-pound or 80 gsm
paper.
5. Feeder tray 1
The capacity of tray 1 is 1000 sheets of 20-pound or 80 gsm
paper.
6. Feeder tray 2
The capacity of tray 2 is 500 sheets of 20-pound or 80 gsm
paper. Except for capacity, this tray is identical to tray 1.
Printer control console
Located on the printer is a control console containing message
and graphic displays, information, stop, continue, and sample
buttons, a power switch, and indicator lights showing the active
feeder tray, and the paper size in use.
