This section describes the troubleshooting, and notes and restrictions when using TCP/
IP.
Troubleshooting
The possible causes, check points, and remedies for problems when using TCP/IP
(LPD) are as follows.
When using Windows 95, Windows 98, or Windows Me
Cause

The machine is connected to

computer.

Confirm with your network system administrator
if a router or a gateway is present between the
networks where the computer and the machine
are connected.
Remedy
Connect the machine to the network where the
computer is connected.
A connection cannot be
established due to a problem
on the network between the
computer and the machine.

None.
Remedy
Request your network system administrator to
investigate the problem.
The machine's power was
switched off after the
computer instructed a print
job. Or, the computer
instructed a print job while the
machine is switched off.

Check if the machine is on.
Remedy
Switch on the machine.
Multiple numbers of
computers are instructing
print jobs simultaneously to
the machine.

None (The print job will automatically be
recommenced.)
The computer's available disk
storage is insufficient and
unable to spool the print file.
Status

Unable to print (Spool Error)
Check

Open [My Computer] and right click the disk
where the system is installed (e.g. C drive).
Select [Properties] from the menu and confirm
the available storage.
Remedy
Delete unnecessary files to increase available
disk storage. Then select [Pause Printing] from
the [Document] menu in the [Printer] window to
cancel the pause (the print job will restart).
