Configuration of Scan to FTP/SMB
Preparations
Prepare the following to use the Scan to FTP/SMB feature.
Using with FTP
When using with FTP transmission, one of the following FTP servers and an account
to FTP servers (login name and password) are required.
z
Microsoft Windows Server 2003
FTP service of Microsoft Internet Information Server 6.0
z
Microsoft Windows NT Server 4.0, Microsoft Windows 2000 Server, Microsoft
Windows NT Workstation 4.0, Microsoft Windows 2000 Professional, or Microsoft
Windows XP
FTP service of Microsoft Internet Information Server 3.0 or later
z
Novell NetWare
FTP service of NetWare 5.11J or 5.12J
Refer to the manual provided with the software for how to configure the FTP service.
Using with SMB
When using with SMB transmission, a computer running on the following OS which
includes a shared folder function is required.

Installation Overview
This section describes the configuration procedure to use Scan to FTP/SMB on the
machine.
The following is the procedure to use the Scan to FTP/SMB feature.

Enabling Port and Setting TCP/IP
Enable the FTP port and SMB port, and then set the machine's IP address.
z
Preparing a FTP folder or SMB folder
Create a folder for transmission destinations on the computer.
Note
• When using with SMB, an only local user can create a folder. A domain user cannot create.
