resolution specified in the job.
3. Select one of the resource options:
–
Do Not Save Resource: All resources are deleted and
do not persist across system restarts.
NOTE: Only one decomposer runs for each context,
regardless of the number of queues that exist. If you set up
five Save Resource queues, all five queues funnel jobs to
one Save Resource decomposer. The same occurs with
Do not save resource queues. Because all Save Resource
queues feed into the same Save Resource decomposer,
any commands persist across all Save Resource queues
and affect all jobs sent to those queues.
–
Save Resource: All PCL fonts, macros, user-defined
symbol sets, and user-defined patterns that have a
permanent status are saved or persist across system
restarts, may be applied to all following jobs, and may
affect how the job prints.
–
If desired, select [Job-Level Save] to save PCL
resources on a job to job basis.
4. Program PCL Paper Sources. The PCL Paper Sources option
maps the PCL 5e defined paper sources 1 through 6
(Standard, Manual Paper Feed, etc.) to a paper type
designation for use when the job is printed. For example, the
Standard paper source can be defined as plain, white, 75 gsm,
not drilled. Any PCL job that includes the Standard paper
source definition within the job maps to the paper type defined
here and uses that paper, as available, in a paper tray on the
printer. The mapping occurs only if no other paper specification
is given with the job (such as in the Job Ticket) or no override
is set for paper on the queue.
a. Select [Paper Sources...]. The PCL Paper Sources dialog
appears.
b. Right-click a PCL Paper Source option and select
[Properties...] to open a dialog which allows you to change
paper tray settings. Make any desired changes and select
[OK].
c. Select [Close] to exit PCL Paper Sources.
NOTE: If tray is not defined in the job ticket, the queue
default media is assigned to the tray.
5. Specify the Lines Per Page to determine how many lines will
print on each page.
6. Select [Edge to Edge Printing] if you want text to print as close
to the edge of the paper as possible. Setting this option directs
the PCL decomposer to ignore the print area designated within
the PCL job.
7. Set the page Orientation to specify the positioning of the
printed image on the page.
