Introduction
Passwords can be set to control access to WebTools features. If you do not specifically
set these passwords, all users have access to all WebTools functions (see page xvi).
WebTools include WebSetup, Status, WebLink, WebSpooler, and Installer.
WebSetup
WebSetup provides a graphical interface for configuring the server (Setup) after an
initial Setup has been performed from the Control Panel. For more information, see
Chapter 3.

It is strongly recommended that access to WebSetup, as well as Setup from the
Control Panel, be controlled by setting an Administrator password.
Status
The Status WebTool provides you with current information on the jobs processing and
printing on the DocuColor 40 CP. It is not affected by any password setting. For more
information, see the
Printing Guide
.
WebSpooler
WebSpooler allows remote users to preview, manipulate, reorder, reprint, and delete
jobs currently spooling, processing, or printing on the DocuColor 40 CP. It also
allows the administrator to use the DocBuilder tool (Thumbnails A and B) and to
view, print, or delete the Job Log.
WebSpooler access can be controlled by setting an Operator password from WebSetup.
If you set a password, only users with that password can manipulate jobs from
WebSpooler. A user who does not have the password can still log in to WebSpooler as a
Guest with view-only access (see page xvi). For more information, see the
Job
Management Guide
.
WebLink
WebLink provides a link to a pre-set DocuColor WebLink destination. The WebLink
destination can be changed (see page 2-48). This function requires the Administrator
password, if one has been set. See “Passwords” below.

:
If no Administrator password has been set, any user can set the WebLink
destination. For this reason, it is strongly recommended that you set an Administrator
password.
