Diagnostics menu
Use the Diagnostics menu to print samples and specify trace mode
options. (It is also used by your service representative to access
system diagnostic functions.)

Diagnostics pull-down menu
The Diagnostics pull-down menu contains the following items:
•
Sample Prints
— Allows you to print sample files (test
patterns), to exercise the print engine, and to perform a manual
print quality adjustment (PQA).
•
Trace Options
— Allows you to capture and execute a
diagnostic trace of your system. This function is available to
Administrator and Service privilege mode users only.
•
Service Mode
— Accessed by your service representative;
This function is available to Service privilege mode users only.
•
Debug Level
— Displays different levels of debug messages to
be stored in log message files. This function is available to
Administrator and Service privilege mode users only.
Note:
Operating at a Debug Level other than 0 could reduce
throughput speed.

Null Modem Connection
— Accessed by your service
representative; This function is available to Service privilege
mode users only.
•
Log Service Call
— Accessed by your service representative;
This function is available to Service privilege mode users only.
•
Update from CDROM
— Allows you to update your software
using a CD. This function is available to Administrator and
Service privilege mode users only.
•
Update from Floppy
— Allows you to update your software
using a diskette. This function is available to Administrator and
Service privilege mode users only.
•
Install Remote Update
— Allows you to update your software
remotely. This function is available to Administrator and Service
privilege mode users only.
