Initial Issue
007-702 Tray 3 Open RAP
The Control Logic detected the absence of the analog signal Size Switch Sensed Voltage for
Tray 3.
Initial Actions
Ensure that Paper Tray 3 is closed.
Procedure
The Paper Tray is properly seated and fully closed.

Perform the following:
•
Inspect the paper tray rails and cavity for obstructions.
•
Inspect the paper tray paper end guide for proper operation. If the end guide does
not operate the Size Actuator replace the Paper Tray (PL 14.2).
Switch off the power. Disconnect the Power Cord. Remove the Size Switch PWB (PL 13.3). Do
not disconnect the connectors on the Size Switch PWB. Place the Size Switch PWB so that it
does not short circuit to the machine frame. Connect the Power Cord. Switch on the power.
There is +4.76 ±0.10 VDC from J 236 pin 2 on the Size Switch PWB and GND.

Go to Flag 1. Check the wires for an open or a short circuit to ground. The wires are
good.

Repair the wires. Ensure that PJ 217 on the Feeder PWB and PJ 236 on the Size
Switch PWB are properly connected.
There is +5 VDC from J 236 pin 1 on the Size Switch PWB to ground.

Go to Flag 2. Check the wire for an open or short circuit to ground. The wires are
good.

Repair the wires.
Replace the Feeder PWB (PL 13.4).
Replace the Size Switch PWB (PL 13.3).
Press and hold switch number SW1 and SW3 on the Size Switch PWB. There is +1.57 ±
0.10 VDC from J 236 pin 2 on the Size Switch PWB to GND.

There is +5 VDC from J 236 pin 1 on the Size Switch PWB to ground.

Go to Flag 2. Check the wire for an open or short circuit to ground. The wires are
good.

Repair the wires. Ensure the connector J 236 is properly connected.
Replace the Feeder PWB (PL 13.4).
Replace the Size Switch PWB (PL 13.3).
Press and hold switch number SW2 and SW4 on the Size Switch PWB. There is +3.13 ±0.10
VDC from J 236 pin 2 on the Size Switch PWB to ground.

There is +5 VDC from J 236 pin 1 on the Size Switch PWB to ground.

Go to Flag 2. Check the wire for an open or short circuit to ground. The wires are
good.

Repair the wires. Ensure the connector PJ 236 is properly connected.
Replace the Feeder PWB (PL 13.4).
Replace the Size Switch PWB (PL 13.3).
Replace the Feeder PWB (PL 13.4).
