(4) Display screen freeze (crash)
When you find the display screen freezes, freezes the situation. First restart the device,
whether the system will normally enter the chart interface. If the system can normally
enter the chart interface, also can be used normally, then contact the manufacturer, the
upgrade procedures. If the system can’t normally enter the chart interface, you need to
contact the manufacturer to download the package again to update the system.
(5) Display screen-printing characters row (crash)
When you find the display screen-printing characters row (background is white or blue or
black), panic situation. First restart the device, whether the system will normally enter the
chart interface. If the system can normally enter the chart interface, also can be used
normally, then contact the manufacturer, the upgrade procedures. If the system can’t
normally enter the chart interface, you need to contact the manufacturer to download the
package again to update the system.
4.2 Operation Manual for HM-5818 Update Disk
The following steps would be for updating ECDIS application. Before you’re ready
to update it, please make sure that you have the
USB flash disk with latest Update
Package
. And then follow the steps one by one.
4.2.1 Select boot device (If the default boot device is USB flash
disk

you can skip this step)
Insert
USB Flash Disk With Latest Update Package
, turn on the ECDIS and keep
pressing
F7
key on the keyboard and don’t stop until you can see the menu of boot
device as the following picture. Select the USB Flash disk (For example, TOSHIBA
TransMemory 1.00), and then press
Enter
key to enter the function menu.

The name here may be different from the USB flash disk you
actually use.
You can confirm which one is your USB by excluding the
other two choices.
Enter Setup
Enter the BIOS Setup
