There are several different kinds of capacitors in the kit. The polyester caps
deserve special attention since there may be several different colors in the kit.
Your kit will most likely include a few of the types shown in the picture below.
The red, yellow, white, and blue rectangle ones are polyester box caps. The
other red and green ones are dipped polyester. The majority of them will be
the yellow box type – but there also may be some of the other colors. They are
all equivalent – just made by different manufacturers. The value is shown on
the part, usually indicated in nF (nanofarads). For example 10n = 10nF, 470n
= 470nF. In some cases they may say 0.1 = 0.1uF = 100nF or 1u0 = 1uF. The
letter J or K simply indicates the tolerance of the part, 5% or 10%.
