Removing and installing the battery
You can remove the battery and use an (optional) external charger to
charge it.
Removing the battery
1.
To swap with a charged battery:
Use one of the methods described in “Suspending operation”
on page 40 to suspend operation.
If a charged battery is not available:
Save your work and close all running programs; then shut
down the computer or put the computer in Hibernation mode
(see “Suspending operation” on page 40).
Note:
To avoid losing unsaved data, wait until the computer
has completed switching to Suspended mode before
removing the battery.
2.
Use the stylus or a pen to depress the battery lock button.
3.
On the computer, slide the battery release latch toward the lock
button.
The battery unlocks and slightly rises from the computer.
