YSI ProDSS or ProSWAP water quality sensor
The ProDSS or ProSWAP may be used for short term
deployments without a wiper, or with an add-on Zebratech
wiper for long term deployments. The ProSWAP has a
single port for fitting the desired water quality sensor (along
with the internal pressure and temperature sensors), while
the ProDSS has four available ports.

Bulkhead connector
Figure 26 - ProSWAP/ProDSS bulkhead connector with M12 port to suit matching wiper
Both the ProDSS and ProSWAP use an 8-pin MIL-DTL-26482 connector (female bulkhead). The connector uses
alphanumeric labels from A to H. Note the non-standard use of Green and Black color codes below:
•
Red (A) to BAT or SW12V
•
Green (C) to GND
•
White (D) to RS485_B
•
Black (E) to RS485_A
Refer to Table 3 on page 22 for details on the wiring inside the Ai1. The bulkhead requires a 17.5mm hole, gasket
and backing nut thread 11/16" - 24 UNEF. Refer to

RS485 Configuration
The ProDSS and ProSWAP operate via RS485 in the same way as the YSI EXO sensor. Refer to section 7.3.3 for more
details.

Software Considerations
Refer the software consideration in the YSI EXO section for details on the program operation.
Optical Dissolved Oxygen (ODO, or commonly DO) sensors measure percentage saturation (%sat). When using
Optical DO without a salinity sensor (such as the ProSWAP) a salinity compensation algorithm is required to calculate
DO in mg/L concentration. The program checks for the declaration of a constant DO_CORRECTION and if found,
