Communications options
The Ai1 can be fitted with any of the following primary communications options.

The cellular frequencies supported are listed in the table below. CELL200 is the
Global 3G modem, while CELL205 is the model specific for Verizon in the US and
CELL215 is the 4G modem that suits most countries in Europe, Middle East, Asia
and Australia. It is recommended to check the frequencies used by your local
carriers to confirm compatibility.

Along with the primary communication, a local network or local control can also be used. For these methods, specify
the number of remote controls or remote stations to be supplied. Local radio licensing restrictions may apply to
using these options, refer to your local authority.
-REMOTE
Two button remote control for nearby operations (<100m) such as turning on or off a pump. Uses
433MHz unlicensed band radios.
-RADUSB
A USB radio modem for real-time communications with the Ai1. This is typically used with always-on
radios such as used in the Ai1-Sampler.
-RADOUT
A radio base station that outputs a customized report from the Ai1 via a local RS232 interface

The Iridium SBD system is analogous to SMS in that it is a short packet of data. The sending of SBD data depends on a clear view of the sky and enough retries to send data while individual Iridium satellites are
available overhead. The provided program includes retrying data transmission if message transmission fails. Data transmission success rates are typically above 95% with retries.
