a.
Listen for Windows notifications when a USB device is connected or
disconnected when connecting through USB. This may indicate
power problems, datalogger resets or remote program changes. Use
Windows Device Manager to confirm the port allocated to the CR300
(COM3 in the example here)
b.
If the datalogger fails to connect, yet gives the USB connection sound
when plugging in, it may be busy performing another process. For
particularly difficult connections, consider using a terminal program
and pressing enter to return the CR300> prompt.
c.
If the datalogger is slow or unresponsive the USB cable may need to be unplugged and re-seated
d.
If the datalogger is not recognized by Windows, it may be a corruption of the datalogger. The
hardware may still be operational. Contact support for instructions on booting logger into Safe
Mode (prevents program running).

If the program is running, but a connection is not established to PBRouter or other services, make
sure that the communication parameters are correct. Particularly the SIM card information. The
Access Point Name (APN)
must match the SIM card service provider. The settings vary depending
on your service provider. For a Global SIM card issued from the factory the APN is

running program). For other locally sourced SIM cards, refer to your provider for further
information. Find this line in your program to edit the APN:

Signal Strength
. Specifies the signal strength of the modem in -dBm, with RSRP for systems using 4G
or RSSI for systems using 3G. Note that the signal strength is highly rotation dependant due to the
orientation of the antenna. To estimate signal strength at your site, with various service providers,
