Subscription Options
The default option for Ai1 SIM card supply depends on the destination country:
1.
For Ai1’s delivered to USA,
an activated Verizon SIM is typically included.
2.
For Ai1’s delivered to Australia, an activated Telstra SIM is typically included.
3.
For all other countries, a Global SIM is typically included.
For clients that want their own SIM’s to be used it is recommende
d to have the SIM card sent to Xylem, for fitting in
the factory. For larger customers that manage their own account, the blank SIM card can be supplied with the
identification number which can be activated under their existing account. It is strongly recommended to use Post-
Paid SIM cards as Pre-Paid SIM cards almost always result in periods of data outage.

Global SIM Considerations
While the Ai1 can be fitted with your own SIM card, the
default
and recommended method is to use a factory fitted
Global SIM. The Global SIM provides greatly simplified cellular connection for almost anywhere around the world, at
economical prices. The Global SIM allows up to 25MB/month/station, typically included in the Eagle.io
subscription

. The Global SIM will automatically connect to the best available network which can be seen from the
Deployment
\
Cellular
tab, under
Cellular Network Status
. The status will update every 10s, displaying “
Cell
network state: Registered
” when successful. Roaming may be displayed depe
nding on the country.
If the Global SIM does not automatically connect to a network, some manual configuration is required, with the
steps outlined here.
1.
Force the Ai1 to identify the available networks.
Switch to the
Settings Editor
tab, under
Cellular
,
scroll down to
Cell List Network Operators
. Select
Enabled
. Click the Apply button, acknowledge the
responses, and then reconnect. If this option does
not exist, your DevConfig needs to be updated.
2.
Allow 90s for the network operator search to be
performed and then return to the Cellular Network
Status (under Deployment \ Cellular). The list of
operators will be shown, each with a 5-digit code
