already performed a Read Data function, the status will change to Backup Required (Data:
Available) or Complete (Data: Available). In order to get the route back to Device Loaded
(Data: Loaded), you must first perform the Re-Execute function, and then press
Execute
.
When I Import, I get the error "Incorrect Record
Length." What is this error telling me?
This error message means the length of one or more records, or lines of data, importing to
AutoRead is not set to the correct length. In other words, AutoRead is configured to look
at each line of data entering its database to determine if the data is at the correct length
as defined in the import layout. If one or more records have an incorrect line length, it will
produce this error when importing. The incorrect record length must be corrected before
AutoRead will properly import the file.
Often, simply recreating the route file in your utility billing program and trying to Import again
will correct the problem. If not, try to determine if there have been any recent software
changes to AutoRead or your utility billing program. This error usually occurs after a change
has been made to the software program. This will help you to determine which program has
been altered.
If you think the problem is in the route file created by your utility billing program, then you
should call their support center first.
If you are still not sure where the problem is located or you think the problem is with
the AutoRead software, please call Sensus Metering Systems Technical Services at
1-800-638-3748.
What is an "Invalid Operation" error message?
This means the function you were trying to perform is not correct according to the Status
of the route. Examples of the correct functions for a given Status are shown below, though
additional diagrams and explanations may be found in Section 6 of the included manual.
