This is described in detail in the Installation and
Operating Instructions for the MH 6122, supplied
with the mains module.

11. Note for Extending the
Temperature Sensor Cables

The temperature sensors for PolluTherm are with
platinum resistor elements in the version Pt 500
(500 Ohm at 0 °C) as standard.

Two temperature sensors are required for each
calculator unit. Therefore, with regard to this, they
are delivered in pairs and calibrated. It is ensured
that a measured temperature differential in the
heating or cooling system is not falsified by
different characteristics of the temperature sensor
and cable resistance.

Due to the systems, it is frequently required to
extend one or both temperature sensors. The
cable for the temperature sensors can be
extended to a maximum of approx. 23 m.
In order to compensate for the additional cable
resistance, the so-called four-wire system is used.
Cable with four wires is used (e.g. I-
Y(St)Y 2x2x0.8,

minimum cable cross-section:

0.5 mm²

).

Option:

  Extending only one cable

  Extending both cables where both

extensions must not be the same length

Extension cable of the temperature sensor must
be carried out using the distribution socket offered
by Sensus. (refer to Figure 18, Order
number: 88599001, Installation Instructions MH
6105).

Due to the use of two additional wires per
temperature sensor at the terminal block in the
calculator unit, the electrical resistance and the
extension cable has no influence on the
measurement and indication of the temperatures
for higher temperature 1 and 2 and the lower
temperature 3 and 4,
