Judgement method for fault maintenance of Horn failure
Common failure: hoarse sound, no sound.
1. Check the installation location
After removing the peripheral plastic parts of the
vehicle, check the installation position of the horn, and
should not touch the surrounding objects.
No
Check the horn separately
Yes
Eliminate the touch point and check the sound again.
If it recovers, it is judged to be caused by the touch.
If not, it is judged that the horn is faulty. Replace the
horn.
2. Check the horn performance
Use 10~14.5V DC voltage intermittently for 5~10 times,
the horn should be able to emit a stable and uniform
sound.
Normal sound
Judge that the horn performance is OK
Hoarse sound
Replace the horn
3. Check the input voltage
Remove the horn, open the electric door lock, and use
the multimeter DC voltage to check whether the input
end of the horn connector is 12V voltage input when
pressing the horn button.
No 12V output
1. Check the terminal
2. Check the horn button switch
3. Line inspection
12V output
Check the horn
4. Check the connector terminal
Terminal appearance inspection: if there is breakage,
rust, and oxidation.
No
Judge that the connector terminal is OK
Yes
Replace the connector terminal
5. Check the horn button
Appearance: no damage or cracking.
Operation inspection: the button can rebound without
jamming after being pressed.
Performance: The multimeter on-off test is normal.
No
Judge that the button is OK
Yes
Replace the button
6. Line inspection
Wire appearance: no damage or cracking.
On-off test: Check the on-off position of the multimeter.
Whether the 12V output wire has open circuit or short
circuit.
No
Judge that the wire is OK
Yes
Replace or repair the wire
